drew a picture based on a nat geo cover i saw and gave it to mommy. the mother in the picture is lying down so that's why her hair spreads out.

just got a call today from my friend adrian and he's planning to get a children's storybook published. i have just gotten my first illustrating job GAAAHH~ ! it's all still in the planning stage, but i'll post up the progress as it... progresses. ;D exciting! if it all goes through, PLEASE SUPPORT AND BUY THE BOOK! aye, okay thinking to far. tsk.

some seriously pretty cards! the two flower arrangement ones took alot of my time cutting cutting cutting and trying to paste them on properly, mostly because of the wires i used for stems. the two big flowers on white card are made of felt. i haven't decided what to write on the front yet, so if you want it you can tell me what occasion it's for and i'll fill it in. finally, the butterflies! i think small girls would love that one. :)

TADAR! some of my precious calligraphy work. i don't mind doing it for fun, but when under pressure to finish it.. i get cranky. (heh) the worst thing is when you got half the alphabet done but make one mistake in the middle, and have to restart. Arrrg. but looking at the completed work is so satisfying. writing like this feels very lord of the rings.

found this while digging in the rubbbbbbbbish stacked up in my room. the beginnings of my portraiture craze! what a scary face. it's freaky, but the more i look at it, the more i think it looks like marilyn ma----. (the weird male 'singer' who dresses like everyday's halloween.) anyways, i think i can say my drawing has improved from back then. ;D and i think i drew that while studying. =| SSSH.

new drawing, did it yesterday in under an hour! i changed her hair and made up some funny looking clothes cause the source picture was cut off on top and below. :\ anyway, it's a good drawing..

really, really frustrated with my art course now cause i'm doing CALLIGRAPHY at this last final almost-finishing-the-course stage and i'm totally stuck! stuck meaning i can't get the assignments done acceptably. i sit there for so long with these pens that have like a million nibs (called speedball pens) and a bottle of ink and try over and over again to write out one sheet of alphabet that looks proper. AUGH, it's killing me..

I'M SO BAD AT THIS CALLIPGRAPHY .. STUFFFF!

so that's what's up with my art life now. other than stressing over that, i'm still making ordered cards. abandoned my pencils and brushes, just temporarily.

i wonder what i'm supposed to do in life..
once in a while cliche abit cannot meh.. i'm really wondering what.

TAZA! (an unpredictable alternative to TADA.) i finished up the drawing, WITH HAIR! yes, HAIR, not a very common sight on this blog. the actual drawing is really pretty. i like this one. too bad you can't see the hairstrands in the photo ... i put effort into that! (to all who don't know, i dislike drawing hair.)

i kind of said i'd put drawing on hold for now right?
heh. couldn't help myself. art in my blood ! i started this last night and drew until it looked like the first pic. that took about 45 mins? then i continued just now for about an hour. maybe i'll finish it tonight.

as usual, if it looks weird just blame my phone camera. ;) still touching up on her eyes and mouth. the nose was so difficult! that black thing around her jaw is a shadow of her hair.. the hair's not there yet so the shadow looks like some tumor. was showing this to my dad and i realized he's kinda numbed to my drawings. when other people see it they give a genuine delighted expression, like, wow how'd you do that? my dad just went, why you always draw no hair one? and what's that black thing?
haha. guess it's because he's seen so many drawings so it's not a big deal to him. it keeps me on the ground, helps me not to get too puffy headed about my, ahem, talent. hahaha.

i can still draw for special requests so do ask if you want one done. :)

chalk pastel drawing. isa and weichern gave the chalk to me last year for my birthday. :) ah, my bro and mom keep laughing at my art. (so angry..) APPRECIATE LAH people put heart and soul into it leh. i think this lady looks japanese. can you guess what she's smiling so heartily at? i think the chart is blocking her view. hmmm. heh, this is what i do when i daydream OCCASIONALLY during school. i drew another girl but that was after i took this pic. =D
